Make history fun with 10 Native American crafts !

Introduce the following Native American regions: Eastern Woodlands, Plains, Southwest, and Pacific Northwest with 2 crafts from each region.

The pack also includes an "Educational Opportunities" Sheet with facts

and extra activity ideas to extend the learning even more.

 

The Native American Pack includes the following crafts:
  • Eastern Woodlands Canoe : 
    Paint the pattern, then lace through the holes to create a canoe.
  • Eastern Woodlands Bearclaw Necklace:
    String the bearclaw and colored beads to make a unique necklace.
  • Plains Teepee:
    Decorate the teepee pattern with crayons and beads. The build the teepee with wooden dowels, twine, and a base.
  • Plains Headdress:
    Create a miniature model of a Plains feathered headdress with safety pins, beads, lacing, and chenille stems.
  • Southwestern Costumed Dancer Puppet: 
    Decorate the costume pattern with markers and feathers. Use paper fasteners to put the puppet together and make it dance.
  • Southwestern Dance Rattle:
    Make and decorate a rattle like the ones used in ceremonial dances in the Southwest.
  • Pacific Northwest Totem Pole:  
    Choose and decorate 3 faces for your totem pole.
  • Pacific Northwest Talking Stick:
    Create a talking stick by decorating a dowel with feathers, wrapping it with lacing, and adding beads for a finishing touch.
  • Native American Dreamcatcher:  
    Weave the yarn to create a web. Decorate the dreamcatcher with markers, beads, and feathers.
  • Native American Medicine Bag:
    Sew a small medicine bag from felt using leather lacing. Finish the project with feathers and beads.
